PHELIA’S PROCESS!

This project had SO MANY revisions it wasn’t even funny. The whole thing sprouted from this world I kept imagining myself in: a little pearl sleeping inside her oyster bed. It was an Oregonian winter, and I was feeling it. In a flurry of “they don’t cure it with sea air like they used to” Tiktoks and that image of me as a pearl, Ophelia felt like the vibe. The project started off with trying to play into the whole “painterly” thing and playing with the liquid shining through, but it wasn’t the right solution. It didn’t have the whimsy involved, and felt too serious because this is also about laughing through the pain in a way. So after MANY brainstorm sessions, crits and sleepless nights we have the Phelia bottle the way it was meant to be. In conclusion, I would like to thank my professor and peers for this as their feedback was everything during the process.
